Plot Idea

When I first started to consider the plot of my film I originally planned to create a Horror film. However since then I have changed the genre on which I plan to focus my film. When I was researching film genres I came across a genre that I found interesting, this genre was Drama. This genre particularly interested me as I could include elements of suspense and shock into my film while having an interesting plot line. So after deciding that my genre would be Drama I decided to start thinking of a basic plot idea for my film and I decided to research ideas about plots. I noticed that many drama revolve around relationships whether it's with family or partners. I decided that I would make a series a basic plot idea and survey people to see which they thought was most interesting. I would create a series of basic plots some of which follow the conventions of a drama film and others that defy them. To do this I needed to brainstorm possible plot ideas. 

Basic Plot Ideas:

• Short Drama about relationships within a family e.g. father + daughter problems
• Short Drama about a couple with issues
• Short Drama based on the past e.g. middle class family
• Short film about Phantom Pregnancy

I decided that I would chose the plot idea that I found most interesting and unusual. This was the short film about Phantom Pregnancy as this was an interesting topic and would be a good idea for a film plot that is not commonly used as it strays away from the conventional stories of the drama genre. This is the story board that I created on StoryboardThat.com this gave me a good idea on what my film would include and how I can progress it from here and start to plan other things such as casting.
