Mise-en-scene

Costume

When I began to think about what I would dress my main character in. I began to research what new mothers would wear and what I noticed was that they seemed to wear quite laid back and comfortable clothing. However, I feel that I may dress my 'mother' character in usual clothes for the new mother convention. I feel that it would be unusual for a new mother to be dressed smart and clear and look very awake as this is the opposite of the general assumption of new mothers. I feel this may confuse the audience and make them curious as to why she is so neatly dressed. I think that it is important that my 'new mother' character is shown to be adjusting well to motherhood when actually it is the opposite and this will help to surprise the audience. This is a picture that I found on Pintrest that will help me to show how I want my 'new mother' to be dressed and what this will convey to the audience.
Make-up

This is a video that I found online that I think demonstrates the perfect make-up that I wish to create on my 'new mother'. Th make up shown is simple and easy to crate and this is important as if I need to reshoot some of my film the make-up will not be difficult to recreate. The makeup shown here is not to over the top or anything special, it is just simple but effective. This will help to create to clean and tidy look that I want my mother to be shown as. It is important that the make-up is easy to recreate as it will be needed for continuity. Make-up helps to establish the overall look of the film and will help to create the mood.
Props
Props are very important when shooting a film as they help to 'dress' the room and could be significant to a particular scene or film. It is important that I plan my props before I start shooting my film as this will help me to establish and ensure that I have everything I need when I begin to film. I planned what prop's I would need in each scene.
